How To Get Muscles Fast

Hey guys, welcome to my blog. If you are looking for information on how to get muscles fast (the faster the better!), then I am glad you found my blog, and strongly suggest you keep reading. I plan to share with you everything I have learnt in the last 18 months, so hopefully you can learn from my experience and save yourself hours of wasted effort in the gym, and thousands of dollars on supplements and gadgets. I owe it all to this guy

So let’s cut the crap, and get straight to the point. If you are thinking about beefing up, or are trying to beef up but not seeing any results, then everything you know is probably worthless. So empty your brain of all that junk right now! You see, up until 6 months ago, I was doing everything wrong too.

I am probably the textbook definition of a hardgainer, I was a skinny runt and couldn’t get muscles no matter how hard I tried. I started spending hours at the gym, busting my ass until I could barely move. I spent thousands of dollars on supplements, pills, powders and magazines. All I ended up with was sore arms, and a feeling of failure.

Girls don't like this... = Fail

Girls love this... = Great success /borat accent

To be honest, I didn’t care about being healthy, or being strong. I just wanted to buff up and impress the girls! Contrary to what they might tell you, we all know that girls like buff guys. Let’s face it, you don’t see the school hottie hanging out with the skinny ass dude do you? Yeah I was that skinny ass dude up until 6 months ago, it sucked to be me. I didn’t even want to get huge, I just wanted some visible muscles to boost my confidence and help impress women (yeah I know I am shallow)

Probably the only magazine that ever gave me any solid info was men’s health. I was reading through it one weekend and came across an article on a pro trainer called Jason Ferruggia in which he wrote about the 5 biggest mistakes most guys make when trying to get muscles fast. He is also the chief advisor to men’s fitness magazine. Check out his site here, which has tons of kick ass free information. Also check out those before and afters and try to tell me you are not impressed!

I read through all of his articles, and decided to try out his program. It was refreshing to read through something a bit different to the usual crap you see online. The whole program revolved around the following points:

1. Giving your body lots of recovery time = not busting your ass in the gym every night

2. Eating the right foods to aid muscle growth and testosterone production

3. Performing exercises safely and correctly to maximise the benefit

4. Building muscle fast and naturally without expensive supplements or dangerous chemicals

5.  Planning your time and routines (very important)

So without starving myself, busting my ass every day, or spending lots of money, I was able to pack on 15 pounds of muscle in my first month! It was not magic – by working hard at fixed intervals, and changing my diet, I basically forced my body to start producing muscle. When you are a skinny wreck, 15 pounds of muscle makes a major visible difference, and the reaction of friends and girls was really noticeable, I felt like a new man and my confidence sky rocketed. I don’t care what anyone says, having muscles gets you girls, end of story.

The second month added 8 pounds of muscle, so it was a lot slower going, but by then I was so into it as seeing the results really motivated me, and I haven’t looked back since. Since I started 6 months ago, I have packed on over 30 pounds of muscle. I’m no bodybuilder, but I am starting to feel very happy with how I look.

You can get the full story on Jason Ferruggia (my guru/emperor/lord) right here Even if you don’t take part in his program, make sure you read through his site as there is a ton of free information there.

5 Tips To Get Muscles Fast

Posted in Uncategorized on October 12th, 2010 by Dan – Be the first to comment

There is a lot of misinformation on the web, however something I learnt was that its often the simple ideas that are the most effective. Check out these 5 pointers to keep in mind when you start training.

1. Do less reps, but do each rep slower: When I am in the gym, I often see guys powering through dozens of reps at the speed of light. It has been proven that this is an ineffective use of effort. To get the most from your workout, you should be performing each rep slower and more deliberately to maximise the amount of strain your muscle is under. Instead of doing 240596 reps, do 8, and make each one count.

2. Work shorter, but harder. This means increasing the weight, and tiring yourself faster. A super intensive 15 minute workout is much better then a light hour workout. Put your muscle under as much strain as you can handle (but stay safe)

3. Workout your whole body. Don’t just focus on one area of your body, all body work outs are not only more efficient, but also more effective. By working all muscles evenly, you are also preventing injuries, and will get a far better look. All the muscles work together, so focusing on one too much can lead to problems.

4. Don’t over train. Hitting the weights 7 days per week is the wrong way to go about getting muscles fast. You need to leave plenty of recovery time between each workout so that your body can repair the muscle damage. I found only working out 2 to 3 times per week gave me the best results.

5. Focus heavily on your diet. I learnt that your diet is just as important as the weight training itself! If you get your diet right, the rest of the process will be much easier. There is no point putting all that effort into weight training when you are not providing your muscles with the fuel they need to grow. It is definitely worth your while to follow a tried and tested diet plan which is proven to help build muscle faster than normal.

You see what I mean? These 5 tips are pretty simple right? But you wouldn’t believe how important they are, and just how many people neglect them! Don’t just take my word for it, try it out and see what you think. Also remember to avoid overdoing the cardio side of things, i used to workout twice per day on an elliptical machine but ditched this due to the negative affect it was having on my muscle growth.

The Role Genetics Play In Muscle Building

Hardgainer. You have probably heard that term before, but do you know exactly what it means? A hardgainer is simply someone’s who’s genetics make it difficult for them to gain muscle mass.  Genetics play a role in all our lives, and the uncomfortable truth is that some people find it a lot hard to build muscle than others.

A lot of people who are hardgainers will be led into believing that they need to take the latest supplement, or simply that they are not working hard enough. Remember that most bodybuilding magazines and publications are owned by supplement companies! The truth is, that if you are a hardgainer, you will never be able to get muscles fast if you are copying the same routines as easygainers. To get muscles, and get them fast, you will need to adapt the plan to suit your own body type and genetics.

So what exactly is going on?

Getting down to the point – it is all about what type of muscle fibre you were born with. Most pro bodybuilders were blessed with more fibres, of which more “fast twitch” than average. Testosterone levels, and metabolism also play a vital role. If you have high testosterone levels, you will find it easier to build muscle mass and keeping off fat. If you have a low metabolism, you will find it easier to pack that muscle on.

I struggled for months trying to copy routines that easygainers were using, until I realised that in order to get muscles fast, I needed to adapt the entire routine – diet, exercise, and timetable – and fit it to the body type that I have.

So if you are finding it difficult to gain muscle, maybe it is time to realise that you are a hardgainer, and adapt your routine accordingly.

How Does Muscle Growth Work?

Posted in Uncategorized on October 12th, 2010 by Dan – Be the first to comment

Before you undertake a muscle building regime, it can be helpful to understand the mechanics of how your body actually grows muscle. Once you understand this, your quest to get muscles fast will make a lot more sense.

The best and most effective weight training regimes are based around solid science, which often flies in the face of conventional wisdom.  Although as with most things in life, there are several different theories in existence. Let’s take a look at them:

Muscle Damage

After a heavy workout, our muscles will often feel sore or ache. People used to think that this discomfort was caused by lactic acid being released into the muscle, however more recent studies prove that the muscle being worked on was being torn. The muscle is essentially damaged, and over a period of time the body repairs the muscle, however the newly repaired muscle is stronger and bigger than the original.

Muscle Growth And Hormones

Other people believe that muscle growth is the result of anabolic hormones released by the body after a heavy workout. These hormones cause muscle growth over time, and are regulated by the body.

Hormones Or Damage?

From my experience, I would say that both theories are indeed correct. Workouts do cause the muscles to tear, and when they repair they will be stronger and bigger, however the repair process requires growth hormones like testosterone which are released into the body after a workout.

By understanding these basic fundamentals, we can start to think about how to get muscles fast without wasting our time, money or effort.

Our body needs the correct fuel to help produce the hormones, we need to perform the correct exercises to tear the muscles, and most important of all, give our bodies enough time to recover and repair.

In forthcoming posts, I will discuss what I learnt about weight lifting, dieting, and recovery times in my quest to get muscles fast.
